Accommodation options in Canaima are as diverse as its landscapes. From rustic camps to more comfortable eco-lodges, here we answer the most frequently asked questions to help you choose the perfect option for your trip.
What are the lodges or camps in Canaima like?
In general, lodging in Canaima is eco-friendly and rustic, yet comfortable. Some places have a simple and family-style atmosphere, while others offer a more exclusive and private setting. There are options with private cabins, common areas, and stunning views. It all depends on the type of experience you’re looking for.
Do rooms have private bathrooms?
Yes. All the lodges we work with, even the most affordable (Essential) option, offer private bathrooms inside each room. The exception is the night at Angel Falls, where accommodations are more rustic (in hammocks or open-air cabins) and bathrooms are shared, even at the only camp that offers beds.
What kind of bed is offered? Do I always sleep in a hammock?
It depends on the lodge you choose. In the regular camps, rooms have standard beds. However, during the Angel Falls expedition, you’ll sleep in a hammock right in front of the waterfall—a one-of-a-kind experience. If you prefer, you can choose the only lodge that offers rustic enclosed cabins with beds at the falls.
Is there air conditioning or hot water?
That depends on the lodge. The Essential option does include air conditioning, while the Boutique one does not—but its location along the Carrao River makes the nights pleasantly cool. As for hot water, some lodges offer it, others don’t. We’ll help you choose the best option according to your preferences.
Is there electricity all day long?
Usually yes, there is electricity available during the day. At night, some lodges turn off their generators or solar systems to save energy, so availability may be limited during certain hours.
What’s included in the accommodation?
In most cases, the accommodation includes three meals a day and basic excursions inside the park. Drinks during meals are included, but extra drinks or alcohol are not. We’ll always send you a detailed breakdown of what’s included. You can check an example here: Canaima + Angel Falls Package.

Reserve Your ExperienceIs there internet or cell phone signal at the camps?
In Canaima, there’s only signal from the provider Movilnet, and it’s generally unreliable. However, most of the lodges we work with now offer decent satellite internet, enough for checking messages, making video calls, or sharing content. Keep in mind that there is no signal or electricity during the night at Angel Falls.
Which is the best accommodation?
There’s no single answer—it depends on your travel style. Some travelers prefer something more intimate and personalized, while others are looking for more amenities or extra services (like kayaking or a swimming pool). Other factors like location, exclusivity, payment flexibility, and how quickly a camp responds also play a role.
