What is included on the package to visit Angel Falls?
AIR TICKET, ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS AT CANAIMA
• AIR TICKET Caracas (Maiquetía) - Canaima - Caracas with no stopover. The Airport in Maiquetía serves the city of Caracas, is about 35 minutes away by car and is the main international and national airport in Venezuela. When you travel to Canaima, the allowed baggage is 23kg checked luggage and 5kg hand luggage.
• ACCOMMODATION: The predominant type of accommodation is in camps or lodges, which are like small hotels adapted to the jungle environment. There are various options to choose from, and with us, you can select the one that best suits what you are looking for and the available budget. There are simple camps that offer very good service, ranging from mid-range camps to the most luxurious and incredible options. Each option has something unique, and we detail them here. All the camps we offer come with private rooms and bathrooms (except for the night spent in front of Angel Falls, which is generally in hammocks, as only one camp offers closed cabins with beds for that night). The camps are well-maintained, clean, and provide good service from the staff.
• MEALS: all meals are included, from lunch on the day of arrival to breakfast on the day of departure. Most camps also offer a welcome cocktail and coffee breaks after excursions. However, most camps have some restrictions on beverages; for example, some only offer natural juices. In the details of each camp, you can note the differences between the accommodation options.
• Satellite Wi-Fi throughout the lodge, including in the rooms.
EXCURSIONS, ACTIVITIES, AND TRANSFERS IN CANAIMA
• Assistance upon arrival and departure at Canaima Airport.
• Transfers to and from Canaima Airport: airport - lodge - airport.
• Canaima Lagoon Excursion with El Hacha and/or El Sapo waterfalls. If it is dry season it may be Golondrina waterfall, also located in the Canaima Lagoon, it will all depend on the water level.
• IMPORTANT! INCLUDES ANGEL FALL EXPEDITION: this is the most important excursion of the tour, and of course, we include it! Additionally, one of our accommodation options offers a stay in closed cabins with beds in front of Angel Falls for that night, making it the only one, as all others can only offer hammocks in open shelters in front of Angel Falls. However, if you choose one of the other camps and do not wish to spend the night in hammocks, there is also the full-day option, where you can leave very early in the morning (around 5 am) and return that same night to the base camp. It’s a bit of a push, but available for those who prefer this alternative.
• Canoes and/or paddleboards to navigate the Canaima Lagoon or the Carrao River (depending on the location of the selected camp). This service is offered only by some of the accommodations (those located on the river or lagoon banks); some offer unlimited service, while others have restrictions on usage time.
• Visit to the Pemón indigenous community.
• Towels for excursions.
What is NOT included?
THIS INFORMATION IS IMPORTANT
• Additional meals and drinks beyond what was specified earlier.
• Tips or other personal expenses.
• The ENTRANCE FEE to the National Park, which is currently $40 for adults and $20 for children. If you take the Kavac excursion, the entrance fee to the village, currently $20, is also not included, nor is the Canaima airport tax after this excursion, which is another $10. These payments are accepted in cash only.
• There are many additional excursions in Canaima besides the ones included in the original package (Canaima Lagoon and Angel Falls by river), but their costs are not included in the original tour packages. It’s better to coordinate and pay for these once you´re at the camp since they depend heavily on the free time you have, weather conditions, the group you’re traveling with, and your preferences. If you opt for the overflight + Kavac excursion instead of the river navigation to Angel Falls, please note that you’ll need to pay an additional $60 per person, and this experience only takes half a day, so if you wish to take other excursions, their cost will need to be paid at the lodge based on your selection since they’re not included in this quote.
• Airport fees or other taxes are not included.
Important
• IMPORTANT: Read our Tips and Recommendations section for trips to Canaima, which includes useful information and notes for this type of tour.
• Prices are per person, based on double or triple occupancy. There are surcharges for single occupancy (one person sleeping in a room); please contact us for the price.
• This excursion is appropriate for families with children over 7 years old; however, it also depends on the individual. Some children under 7 adapt well because they’re used to outdoor activities, or you can hire a nanny in Canaima to look after the children while you’re on excursions. If traveling with children, please ask us for the appropriate rate. Child rates usually apply up to ages 10 or 11, depending on the camp.
• The itinerary for excursions may vary depending on the group, weather, and flight schedules
• Regarding AIR TICKETS: IMPORTANT! Conviasa, the only airline flying to Canaima, has not published the rates for the last quarter of 2024 (usually announced with little advance notice). Therefore, when booking online, we include current rates as a reference, and it’s possible they remain unchanged, but if rates increase, the quote will need to be updated. Likewise, we include the most economical available fare when the tickets can be reserved directly through the automated system used by airlines; however, Conviasa sometimes blocks certain dates. In such cases, it’s necessary to arrange tickets through non-traditional and manual channels, which increases the ticket price and may significantly delay the delivery of electronic tickets. If this situation applies to you, you will be notified when tickets are issued, and the difference in price will need to be paid.
• It’s best to take this tour during the rainy season, from mid-May to late December, depending on when the rains begin and end to ensure smooth river navigation by curiaras (canoes). If traveling during the dry season (approximately January to April/May), please note that the waterfalls may have less water. While the scenery will still be beautiful and impressive, the waterfalls won’t be as abundant and effervescent as during the rainy season, with this difference being more noticeable at Angel Falls than at the lagoon waterfalls.
• Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Notes
• A special recommendation: visiting this section of Canaima National Park to see Angel Falls is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for those fortunate enough to do so. For this reason, we recommend the 4-night package to fully enjoy this dream trip. Moreover, depending on your flight schedule, you may arrive around midday on the first day and depart in the morning on the last day. If you choose the 3-night package (or previously, the 2-night option), it can feel a bit rushed to see and do everything on this wonderful trip.

3 RoyalIn one of the best camps in this national park, oriented towards ecological, conscious and sustainable tourism. It also has a privileged location on the banks of the Carrao River and a beautiful view of the Kurun, Kusari and Kuravaina tepuis; totally private, 3 kilometers from the community of Canaima. It is beautiful and extremely welcoming, resplendent with nature in every corner. It even has a natural pool and a viewing point where you can observe pleasant sunrises, as well as take refreshing baths or ride on the paddle boards and canoes that they offer without time limit to also navigate the Carrao River with the majestic tepuis as a witness.
ABOUT STAYING OVERNIGHT IN FRONT OF ANGEL FALLS: this is the only camp that has a shelter with closed cabins and BEDS (the others can only offer hammocks), the bathrooms are shared (one for ladies and one for gentlemen). It is a super privileged camp in the middle of the jungle and with a beautiful view of the majestic Angel Falls. When you sleep there you will be able to enjoy an unforgettable sunset and a once-in-a-lifetime evening. Note: now, in the event that this camp that we detail here does not have the minimum number of people necessary to carry out the excursion along the river (6 people), this excursion will be coordinated with another camp where the night will be spent in an open shelter with hammocks. Likewise, in the event that the river does not have the minimum water level required by this camp to be able to navigate it, we have two options: the first would be to include you in the river excursion organized by another camp (some camps are more willing to navigate the river the water level low); however, the night in front of Angel Falls would also be in an open shelter with hammocks and it is possible that an additional payment will be necessary, although it would not be much, (it depends on the camp) and the second option would be to replace the river excursion with the flight over Angel Falls plus the Kavac excursion (paying a difference of approximately $120).
