A high-capacity router with 42 access points is installed and on trial period in Venezuela's main airport Maiquetía (that also serves capital city of Caracas) for travelers in transit.
To access the wireless Internet which operates at a speed of 12 megabytes per second inside the airport, passengers must submit their travel documents in any of the stations located between gates 15 and 22 at the international terminal or at the door 5 at the national. They will receive a temporary password that will last 24 hours to connect to any mobile device that has Wi-Fi connectivity.
Initially, according to Venezuela News Agency (AVN), 500 users can simultaneously be connected between the terminals and the network has an effective bandwidth requirements fortravelers.
